We have realised it is nearly a year since the last entry here - I suspect we are not natural bloggers!
So - what has happened in a year? Some holidays - pics in the usual place. Truffle has arrived to live with Holly and Pebble. More holidays. Stuff. All shown in pics in the usual place!
To cut to the present .......
We had a lovely Christmas. It was wonderful to see Albert over Christmas, a shame we didn't get Baz, Otto and Albert together for a photoshoot. However Albert is due back at Easter, we may do better second time round. Tomorrow Will goes back to Uni in Southampton, sad times, mum will cry again (nothing new there then)!
On the schedule for this year - a holiday here hopefully, and another here. Norfolk is now an old friend, regardless of season wonderful walks and relaxing times. Anglesey is a first time - and a story behind finding the cottage already - hope it is as wonderful as it looks. Apparently red squirrels are reintroduced in the forest near the cottage - watch this apce for some photos (we said hopefully!!)

Just had a wonderful weekend in Lulworth with our friends, not sure the Castle Inn where we stayed knew what hit them! Thoroughly recommend it as a dog-friendly place to stay, and the food is great too. They even give doggy guests their own helping of sausage at breakfast.
Thanks to Trevor and Irene for the birthday cake

Had a lovely trip to West Wittering today, met up with loads of friends. Fifteen dachshunds on the beach plus a couple of honorary dachshunds. We both enjoyed ourselves and ended up completely covered in sand! Mum says the car looked like a sand pit by the time we got home. Many thanks to Helen and Melwyn for the scrummy homemade cakes.

Visit to the vet today for some dental work and Digby has lost 12 teeth! Home now and feeling very sorry for himself, wouldn't even eat the chicken mince I had got for his invalid diet. However the sausage filling from a sausage roll went down well! He has painkillers and antibiotics and stitches in his mouth, and we have to go back for a check-up next Monday.

We are having a lovely holiday at Poppit sands near Cardigan, will be posting pictures soon. Unfortunately Digs has had a relapse with his back this afternoon, hoping it is nothing too serious and he will be feeling a little better tomorrow, definitely sorry for himself at the moment.

Poor Digby is a bit under the weather this week. We had a lovely day out at my sister's on Bank Holiday Monday (pics in the usual place!) but think he may have pulled something running round and playing football. Don't think it is serious, but will take rest to sort him out. Tried a walk in Bushy Park today and ended up carrying him for most of it. So a few days confined to home and not jumping on and off furniture for Digs. Unfortunately this means we have had to cancel our visit to see Christine, Milo and Roly tomorrow, hoping to reschedule when Digs is all mended.
Other stuff: Will is off to Uni in two weeks, Joy gets married in two weeks one day and we are off on holiday to a lovely cottage in three weeks. Busy month! Then I start my next Open Uni course (Physics! eek what have I done?) at the start of October, and also start doing some advertising for the photo gifts for Christmas. So if I am a bit slow getting back to anyone I will apologise now!

For a week from tomorrow we can be found here:
Unfortunately Lucy is no longer able to come with us, with her mobility problems she just wouldn't be able to cope with being out and about, in and out of the car and loads of walking. So for the first time she is striking out on her own adventure and having a luxury break at Jeff's mum and dad's. No doubt she will be twice the size by the time we return.
On our agenda for the coming week are the Norfolk Broads, boat trip to see seals, steam trains, a beer festival, loads of beaches and a few nice meals out.
No doubt will be posting about 20,000 photos when we get back!

It has been pointed out to me that blogs should be updated more often than quarterly!
Basil is turning into a gorgeous little lad, now 5 months old. He is losing teeth at the moment, I have managed to save two before he swallowed them. Our first show is June 20th - oh the terror! He is brilliant at home, walks beautifully on the lead, stands nicely for me. Then we get to ringcraft and forget it! Barks at everyone, nose to the floor looking for scraps and is a hairy horrible hooligan.
Digby will be very glad when Basil stops teething, he is sick of being used as a chew but far too timid to do anything about it.
Lucy doesn't come out on many walks now, she can really only manage the short ones. Maybe now summer is here we can do less actual walking and more sitting around so she can join us.
Today we went to a heavy horse show at Blindley Heath in Surrey, pics in the gallery. Tomorrow we are seeing Jacky and Paul for a walk at Alice Holt.

Basil continues to settle in well, getting more confident and pesky with every passing day! Second jabs are due this coming Wednesday so not long til he can go out walking which will hopefully use up some energy! Digby continues to be horrified by the attacks upon his person, but at least has started to fight back a bit and tell Basil off when he gets too much. Lucy just rumbles away like a thunderstorm and shows her teeth, Basil picks up on those hints pretty quickly!
No holidays booked yet for this year so am beginning to get a bit twitchy. I am finding it more difficult to find places that will take three dogs than two, having said that I have a few "possibles" already so hope to book something soon.
Looking forward to visiting Crufts in two weeks with Joy, Louise and Amanda - bound to cost a fortune but a great day out!
